Facility Inspections
One of the many reasons this turned out to be a quality nursing home is that it received an A+ inspection grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this critical category. Our inspection ratings account for a host of factors found on a facility's inspection reports. One key criteria we weigh heavily is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with better grades in this category typically have few severe deficiencies. This nursing home was hit with 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered severe. This indicates that CMS did not consider any of the deficiencies to pose an imminent risk to resident safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this nursing home so well is that it was given a favorable long-term care score. In fact, long-term care is its second most impressive category score. In that area, we gave this facility a grade of A. In a long-term care setting, the primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. After we finished assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 83.88158 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Nurse Quality
Adding to its profile, this facility also earned a grade of B+ for its nursing rating. This is a well above average score in this category. There are numerous criteria within this area. Most of the datapoints reflect the quantity and quality of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
Short-term Care Quality
The final area we scored is short-term care. We gave this nursing home a decent score in that category, with a grade of C. Although this isn't on par with many of this nursing home's other grades, it is nevertheless a middle of the pack score. In computing our short-term care ratings, we analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. Our objective is to formulate a scale for comparing the rehabilitation services of nursing homes. Unfortunately, it does not appear that this facility submitted data regarding its registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. The last metric we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that just 3.8 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is below average.
