Facility Inspections
Although we gave this place a poor overall score, we awarded it a B for our inspections rating. This is due to the nursing home receiving a decent inspection report this year. Perhaps the most important factor we look at in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. It is generally in your best interest to avoid nursing homes that had a long list of deficiencies. This nursing home was hit with 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none were considered to be major deficiencies. This indicates that the government inspectors didn't deem any of these deficiencies to pose an immediate threat to patient health or safety. A couple minor deficiencies are not the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
Included in this nursing home's several abysmal scores was its F in the category of long-term care. For residents looking for a permanent residence rather than rehabilitation, long-term care grades are very important. On top of considering the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Fortunately, this facility vaccinated 100 percent of its patients, which is a very solid percentage. To our surprise, this facility was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. Sadly, a few of its other scores in this category were not as favorable as these.

Nurse Quality
This facility ended up receiving rock bottom score in our nursing category. It received an F in this category. In calculating our nursing grades, we factor in both nursing hours and the skill levels of the nurses. This place averaged only 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing grades. This place performed well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to the fourth category, this nursing home didn't perform very well in this category either. Due to a bottom of the barrel grade of F in short-term care, this is really as as uninspiring as it gets. In calculating these short-term care grades, we analyze the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our purpose is to devise a scale for comparing the rehabilitation services of different facilities. Given its grade in this category, we were not stunned to learn that this facility was well below average in terms of its number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours offered to its patients based on the data we looked at. Honestly, this was what we expected here. Finally, we looked at the percentage of residents who eventually returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.9 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
