Facility Inspections
Although we graded this place incredibly poorly overall, it earned a very impressive government inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our more favorable grades in that category with a grade of B. Perhaps the most significant factor we consider in computing our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. It is typically best to avoid facilities that have too many severe deficiencies. This nursing home was hit with 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This indicates that the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies to be an immediate risk to patient health or safety. A couple minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.
Short-term Care Quality
Unfortunately, this nursing home's second best score is short-term care. However, with a grade of D in this area, it still performed somewhat badly. In determining our short-term care ratings, we size up the nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other types of therapists. This score is frequently a fair measure of a facility's rehabilitation. Given its score in this category, we were not surprised to find that this place was well below average in terms of its quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its patients based on the figures we looked at. Frankly, this was what we expected to find. Lastly, we assessed the number of patients who were able to return home from this facility. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.

Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home wound up receiving a bottom of the barrel grade in our long-term care category. It received an F in this category. For prospective residents seeking a permanent residence rather than rehabilitation, long-term care is an important category. In addition to looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 98.44358 percent of its patients. Surprisingly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home has fewer hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. Sadly, a few of its other scores in this category were not as favorable as these.
Nurse Quality
The last category we scored was nursing, where this facility was given an abysmal score in this category as well. Sadly, it received a lowly F in this area, which is definitely somewhat alarming. Our nursing score weighs quite a few components, however, the most important one is the number of nurse hours per patient per week. This place provided a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient daily. Lastly, we also looked at some quality measures in computing our nursing grades. This nursing home was above average in two of the major areas we considered, with solid marks for minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. These metrics are typically reliable measures of the quality of nursing care provided.
