Once we assessed the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination record. It doesn't look like this nursing home provided data regarding vaccinations. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Moving on to the fourth area, this nursing home also performed admirably in our nursing category. In fact, we awarded it an A- in this area. This rounded out truly elite report card. Nursing grades are tied to quantity of nursing care available. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed certain nursing quality measures in computing our nursing grades. These include minimizing residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We view these metrics as reliable indicators of the caliber of nursing care being provided, since better care tends to reduce these problems.
