In addition to being a respectable facility overall, this place really excelled in the category of inspections, where it earned a grade of A-. Few facilities performed better in this category. Our inspection ratings account for a host of factors found on a nursing home's inspection reports. One key criteria we rely on is the number and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with better grades in this area generally have very few severe deficiencies. This nursing home was hit with 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This tells you that the government inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies to cause an immediate threat to patient health or safety. A couple minor deficiencies shouldn't lead you to cross a nursing home off your list.

One of the other reasons we graded this nursing home so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing rating. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of C. Finally, although this nursing home got dinged a bit for nursing hours per resident, it actually excelled in some of our quality-based metrics. With less than five percent of its patients suffering from pressure ulcers, it performed remarkably well in this metric.

This nursing home's third best area was long-term care. We gave it a C in this category. This is basically a middle of the pack grade in this area. Long-term care scores are based in part on a nursing home's quantity of nursing services. This includes a broad spectrum of personal care services, ranging from help with activities of daily living to routine medical services. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Fortunately, this facility administered the vaccine to 96.666664 percent of its residents, which is a very respectable statistic. Finally, this place was also able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
