Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
On top of being a quality nursing home overall, this nursing home really excelled in nursing, where it received an A-. Few facilities fared better in this category. When computing a nursing home's nursing grade, we assess the amount of time nurses are seeing residents as well as the levels of training of the nurses. This particular nursing home provided 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality-based metrics and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility the country in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can often be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as having a system of moving residents more frequently.
Facility Inspections
Adding to its impressive profile, this nursing home also performed well in the category of inspections. In fact, it earned a nearly flawless government inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our best grades in that area with an A-. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating our inspection ratings. One critical factor is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some can be relatively minor. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Even some of the best nursing homes receive an occasional ding on their inspection report.

Short-term Care Quality
This facility was awarded a strong short-term care score as well. We awarded it one of our better scores in that area with a score of B. Short-term care grades are commonly used to measure a facility's performance with rehabilitation To provide high-end rehabilitation services, facilities generally must offer better levels of highly skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and other highly trained professionals. Unfortunately, we were not able to find information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. The final item we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents who ultimately were able to return home from the facility. We found that 5 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility's worst area is long-term care, which is the final category we analyzed. In this category, we gave this facility a grade of just D. Facilities that do not fare well in long-term care typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in some of the areas of routine medical care we assessed. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to only 75.675674 percent of its patients, which is a bit of a concern. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This was its best score in this category.
