Short-term Care Quality
We awarded this nursing home one of our higher scores in the area of short-term care, where it received a grade of A-. This is notably better than the nursing home's overall grade, which was decent but not in the elite range. In our short-term care assessment, we endeavor to create a fair barometer for rehabilitation. In doing so, we assess a nursing home's scope of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Unfortunately, it does not appear that this nursing home submitted information on registered nurse or physical therapist staffing. The final datapoint we considered in this category is the number of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We found that 6.2 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.
One of the other reasons we graded this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing rating. In that category, we gave this facility a grade of B+. Nursing grades are tied to quality and quantity of nursing care. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality
Sadly, this nursing home's next best score was long-term care. As it turns out, with a D in this category, it still performed somewhat poorly. When nursing homes receive this type of grade in long-term care it is often a bad sign for patient care and it may mean that the place is not as well-staffed. One of the factors we considered in addition to nursing hours was vaccinations. Frankly, we were a bit worried that this facility provided the pneumonia vaccination to only 86.47343 percent of its patients. To our surprise, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than many nursing homes. This was its best score in this category.
In our final category of inspections, this facility received an F in this area. This score was very detrimental to this nursing home's overall grade. With places that received this bad of an inspection rating, we would scrutinize the severe deficiencies on its inspection report. This facility was assessed a category G through L deficiency, which are among the more serious deficiencies. These categories indicate that the deficiencies identified by CMS had the potential to pose actual harm to residents. Finally, this facility also received 13 substantiated complaints in recent years. This is yet another bad sign.
