Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of B-. We believe that one of the most important factors in assessing an inspection report is deficiencies. In this regard, we especially focus on the severity of the deficiencies. This place received 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe deficiencies. This tells you that CMS did not consider any of these deficiencies to create an imminent threat to resident safety or health. Lastly, this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.
Long-term Care Quality
Unfortunately, this nursing home only received a grade of D for its long-term care score, which ended up being one of its more respectable category grades. Long-term care grades in this range generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids, as well as the levels of routine medical care available. One of the criteria we considered after nursing hours was vaccines. Candidly, we were a bit alarmed this nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccine to only 41.561184 percent of its patients. Surprisingly, this nursing home actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.

Nurse Quality
We gave this facility a grade of just D for our nursing rating. Our nursing score assesses quite a few components, but the paramount one is the number of nurse hours spent with patients. This place offered a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing grades. This facility fared well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
Short-term Care Quality
The next area we looked at is short-term care. It received a lowly F in this area, which is a bottom of the barrel score. In calculating our short-term care ratings, we analyze the facility's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other licensed professionals. This area is often a fair assessment of a nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. With a grade of this caliber in this category, we weren't shocked to discover that this facility was well below average in multiple staffing areas we focus on. The facility supplied substantially fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most facilities. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. This wasn't a strength for this nursing home. We found that just 3.1 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home. At most facilities, about half of their residents are able to return home so this is well below average.
