Facility Inspections
B-
Historical
Although we did not rate this facility well overall, we want to note its decent health inspection reports in recent years. We awarded it a relatively respectable grade of B- in this category. We believe that one of the most critical factors in evaluating an inspection report is deficiencies. We especially look at the severity of those deficiencies. This nursing home was assessed 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This tells you that the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies to create an immediate risk to resident safety or health. Lastly, this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.
Nurse Quality
B-
Historical
One of the other reasons we graded this nursing home so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing score. Nursing proved to be its second best category grade. In that area, we gave this nursing home an B-. We assessed the skill-level of nurses working for the nursing home, in addition to the quantity of time the nurses spent with patients, in determining our rating in this area. According to its CMS reports, this facility provided an average of 3.9 hours of nursing care per patient daily, which was above average. Even though this nursing home excelled in terms of quantity of nursing hours, it fell short in some of the statistics that focused on quality. This nursing home's nursing score was pulled down by its weak performance in the area of minimizing pressure ulcers. In fact, we found that 17.5 percent of this facility's patients suffered from pressure ulcers.

Long-term Care Quality
B-
Historical
The next area we assessed was long-term care. In that area, we awarded this facility a decent grade of B-. If you are seeking services other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care ratings. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 96.52778 percent of its residents, which is more than the majority of nursing homes. The last statistic we assessed was the nursing home's hospitalization rate. We found that this nursing home had 2.95 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. Although this figure is quite a bit higher than the national average, this number may be skewed for some nursing homes based on the medical complexity of residents.
Short-term Care Quality
D
Historical
Switching gears to our last area, we awarded this nursing home a grade of D for our short-term care category. This was the nursing home's least impressive category grade. Short-term care grades are meaningful for patients in need of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically utilizes more skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes a vast scope of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Not surprisingly, we learned that this place offers far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than a typical nursing home. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 22.9 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
