This place's grades were horrible across the board. We especially wanted to draw your attention to its inspection grade where it received an F. This isn't a good sign for its inspection reports. When a nursing home has this poor of an inspection grade, you should expect some severe deficiencies on its inspection report. Severe deficiencies indicate a threat to resident safety. Tragically, this nursing home had one category L deficiency. This type of deficiency indicates multiple widespread threats to patient health or safety. A deficiency in this category is very damaging to a nursing home's inspection rating. We are also concerned by the fact that this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.

In addition, we gave this facility an F in the area of short-term care. Our short-term care grades are critical for individuals requiring rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually mandates higher levels of skilled nursing services. This means a vast range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. With its grade in this area, we weren't surprised to discover that this place was well below average in terms of the number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its residents based on the data we assessed. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 39.9 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.

Our next category we analyzed is long-term care, in which this facility was given an F. If you are seeking services other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each facility's long-term care grades. Once we assessed the volume of nursing care, we next considered the nursing home's vaccination record. We were pleased to learn that this facility vaccinates 94.776115 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Finally, we looked at the nursing home's number of hospitalizations. We found that this place had 2.27 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Unfortunately, this figure is not nearly as favorable than its vaccination record.

The final area we rated was nursing. This nursing home was given a poor grade of F in that category. In determining our nursing grades, we weigh both nursing hours and the training levels of the nurses. This place offered a meager 3 hours of nursing care per patient per day. To pair with its subpar totals in the area of nursing hours per resident, this place also did not perform as well in the quality-based measures we looked at in determining our nursing ratings. We looked at the percentage of residents sustaining pressure ulcers and major falls. This nursing home had more falls and pressure ulcers than the average facility. This may be a bad sign when you consider that many falls and bed sores are preventable with better nursing care. These statistics hurt this facility's nursing grade quite a bit.
