Registered Staff Hours
While we were not complementary of this nursing home's overall performance, it did receive an impressive inspection report this year with few dings from the applicable government inspectors. As a result, it received one of our better grades in that area with a B+. These inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this place had a few deficiencies on its inspection report, none of them were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. A couple minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.
Short-term Care Quality
The next most favorable category we awarded this facility in any area came in the category of short-term care, where we gave it a grade of C. In our short-term care grade, we seek to create a fair gauge for rehabilitation. In doing so, we analyze the nursing home's level of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. We found that this nursing home was below average in the two key staffing areas we assessed. In fact, it offered fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other nursing homes. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of patients who eventually returned home from this facility. We found that 6.1 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was actually quite a bit below average.

Long-term Care Quality
Sadly, this facility received an F for its long-term care grade. After assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination records. We were pleased to find that this facility vaccinated 95.4054 percent of its patients for pneumonia. To our surprise, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has fewer hospitalizations than the average nursing home. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
The last category we scored is nursing. This facility was given an abysmal grade of F in this area. The nursing category consists of several factors, many of which are tied to nursing hours.
