In addition to being a first rate facility overall, this nursing home also excelled in our short-term care category, where it received an A. Few nursing homes fared better in this category. Our short-term care grades are believed to be most meaningful for residents in need of rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation generally utilizes additional highly-skilled nursing. Skilled nursing means not just nursing, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Inspection ratings account for several factors included in a facility's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we consider is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Places with higher scores in this category tend to have few of these severe deficiencies. This nursing home received 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were considered to be severe. This means that CMS did not consider any of the deficiencies to pose an imminent risk to resident safety or health. A few minor dings are not necessarily something to panic about.
