Facility Inspections
While we graded this place incredibly poorly overall, it actually earned a fairly impressive government inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our better grades in that category with a grade of B. Inspection ratings are tied to several pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are a key item to look for on these reports. You should especially avoid nursing homes that have severe deficiencies associated with risks to resident well being. This nursing home was assessed 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be major deficiencies. This tells you that the inspectors did not consider any of these deficiencies to cause an imminent risk to patient health or safety. A few minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
We also would like to note that this nursing home received an F for its long-term care score. For prospective residents seeking a permanent residence as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care grades are a key measure. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we next considered the facility's vaccination data. We were pleased to discover that this facility vaccinated 95.71429 percent of its residents for pneumonia. To our surprise, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.04 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than most nursing homes. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.

Nurse Quality
In addition, we gave this facility an F in the area of nursing care. In computing our nursing ratings, we look at both staffing levels and the skill levels of the nurses. With only 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident daily, this facility's nurse staffing levels were well below the national average. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing scores. This facility performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to our last category, this facility really didn't fare well in this category either. Due to an abysmal grade of F in short-term care, this is just about as as uninspiring as it gets. Short-term care grades are based on the nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a vast spectrum of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Considering its grade in this category, we weren't surprised to discover that this place is well below average in terms of the quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours offered to its patients based on the metrics we assessed. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. This wasn't a strength for this nursing home. We found that just 3.6 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most nursing homes, around half of their residents are able to return home so this is well below average.
