Short-term Care Quality
One of the reasons this turned out to be a great nursing home is that it earned an A+ short-term care grade. Our short-term care grade is often used to judge a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation. To offer highly rated rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally need to offer better levels of skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other licensed professionals. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final item we considered in this category is the number of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. We found that 6.4 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
Nurse Quality
This nursing home also received a very impressive nursing grade. In fact, this turned out to be its second best category grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A. Nursing scores are primarily tied to a nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home averages 0.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can typically be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Facility Inspections
Moving on to our inspection category, this nursing home excelled in that area, which is based on the nursing home's recent government inspection reports. In fact, we awarded it an A- for that category. Inspection scores account for several factors found on a nursing home's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we weigh heavily is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with better grades in this area generally have very few of these severe deficiencies. While this facility had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that CMS did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies are not something to panic about.
Long-term Care Quality
The last category we rated was long-term care, where this nursing home was given a C. This actually ended up being this nursing home's weakest category. This is nevertheless nothing to be ashamed of. In forming our long-term care scores, we quantify the facility's ability to maintain its permanent residents' health and quality of life. After considering the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination statistics. We were pleased to discover that this facility vaccinated 94.565216 percent of its patients for pneumonia. This nursing home was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
