Long-term Care Quality
We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility received an impressive grade of A in our long-term care category. Facilities that receive this kind of score in long-term care typically provide consistent 24/7 care to make sure patients are well cared for. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 98.78542 percent of its residents. Vaccines are critical to keeping residents out of the hospital. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
Nurse Quality
This nursing home also received a very impressive nursing grade. In fact, this turned out to be its second best category grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. We scrutinized the skill-level of nurses at the nursing home, as well as the quantity of time the nurses worked with patients, in computing our grade in this category. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Facility Inspections
Another impressive feature of this facility is its inspection grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. Our inspection grades weigh a host of factors included in a facility's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we rely on is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with higher grades in this area tend to have very few of these severe deficiencies. Although this place had some deficiencies on its report, none were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Short-term Care Quality
Switching gears to our fourth category, this facility was awarded a strong short-term care rating. In fact, we gave it a B+ in this area, finishing off one of our more impressive profiles. Short-term care grades are generally used to assess a facility's rehabilitation services. To provide highly scored rehabilitation services, facilities generally need to provide better levels of skilled nursing services. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other highly skilled individuals. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last datapoint we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. We found that 5.1 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
