Registered Staff Hours
We would like to point out that this facility's inspection score exceeded its overall score. This facility earned a B+ in this area, which is a quality score. Arguably the most important factor we consider in computing our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Places with better grades in this area most likely dodged the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. While this nursing home had a few deficiencies on its government inspection report, none of them were severe based on CMS' scale. A couple minor deficiencies shouldn't lead you to cross a nursing home off your list.
One of the other reasons we graded this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing grade. In that category, we awarded this facility a grade of B-. In computing our nursing scores, we look at both nursing hours and the levels of licensure of those nurses. This nursing home averages just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place fared better in some of the quality measures we looked at. In fact, it scored well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. Many consider these areas to be measures of the quality of nursing care. In some cases, the quality of nursing care is every bit as important as the number of hours of care offered.

Short-term Care Quality
The next category we assessed is short-term care. In that category, we gave this facility a grade of B-. In the category of short-term care, we strive to evaluate measures of a facility's rehabilitation. We look at the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Unfortunately, we found that this place provided fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other facilities. Finally, we assessed the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.1 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most nursing homes, closer to half of their patients are able to return home so this figure is below average.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home's least impressive area was long-term care, which is the last area we analyzed. In this area, we awarded this facility a D. Facilities that receive this kind of score in this category may not provide the type of consistent around the clock care that some other facilities offer. After assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination record. We were somewhat surprised to discover that this nursing home vaccinated only 82.94931 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.04 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.
