Short-term Care Quality
On top of receiving a strong overall grade, this facility fared well in our short-term care category. In fact, we awarded it an A- for that category. Our short-term care grade is commonly used to judge a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation. To provide good rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally need to have higher levels of highly skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other highly trained professionals. We weren't able to track down registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. The final statistic we assessed in this category is the number of residents who returned home from the nursing home. We found that 6.9 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
Facility Inspections
Adding to its impressive category grades, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for our inspections rating. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing these inspection ratings. One critical factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is usually more important than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies can be relatively insignificant. Unfortunately, we were not able to find deficiency data for this nursing home. Without having access to all of the deficiency data for this nursing home, it ended up being challenging to really assess it in this area.
