Facility Inspections

Grade: B

Although we gave this nursing home a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a grade of B for our inspections category. This is due to the nursing home receiving a quality inspection report this year. Our inspection ratings are tied to items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important thing to look for on these reports. You should especially avoid nursing homes that have severe deficiencies associated with risks to resident well being. This particular nursing home received 9 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

Nurse Quality

Grade: F

This facility ended up receiving rock bottom score in our nursing category. It received an F in this category. Our nursing rating is mostly based on a nursing home's nurse staffing. This particular place offered just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This figure is quite a bit below average. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing grades. This nursing home performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: F

Sadly, we gave this facility an F for its short-term care score. Our short-term care grades are thought to be more meaningful for residents needing a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically utilizes higher levels of skilled nursing services. This means not only nursing, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. The last metric we looked at in this area is the number of residents that returned home from the facility. This facility struggled quite a bit in this metric as well, with just 4.8 percent of its residents returning home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: F

Switching gears to our fourth area, this facility really didn't fare well in this category either. With a rock bottom grade of F in long-term care, this is about as bad as it gets. For patients in need of a permanent residence rather than rehabilitation, long-term care grades are very important. On top of considering the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility administered the vaccine to 100 percent of its residents. To our surprise, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has fewer hospitalizations than the average nursing home. Sadly, a few of its other scores in this category were not as favorable as these.
