There are a host of subcategories included in this category. Many of these datapoints reflect nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality-based metrics and this facility excelled in some of these areas. Facility Inspections

Adding to this facility's impressive resume, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A for our inspections rating. Our inspection grades are based on many items located in the a nursing home's recent government inspections. Nursing homes that score well in this category tend to have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This nursing home was hit with 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe deficiencies. This tells you that CMS did not consider any of these deficiencies to be an immediate risk to resident health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

Turning our third category, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A for its long-term care grade. This is a very strong grade. Long-term care ratings in this range generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. On top of assessing the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 98.68852 percent of its residents, which is much higher than the average nursing home. Finally, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

In our last category, we gave this nursing home a grade of A for our short-term care grade. This completed a very impressive profile. In determining our short-term care ratings, we scrutinize a facility's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other licensed professionals. This area is frequently a useful assessment of a nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we considered the number of patients who eventually returned home from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.
