Facility Inspections

Grade: B

Although we gave this facility a poor overall score, we awarded it a grade of B for our inspections category. This is the result of the facility receiving a quality government inspection report this year. Our inspection grades weigh a host of factors found on a facility's inspection reports. One key criteria we consider is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. You generally want to avoid nursing homes with too many deficiencies flagged. This nursing home was hit with 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe deficiencies. This tells you that CMS did not consider any of the deficiencies to pose an immediate risk to resident safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies are not the end of the world.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: C

Surprisingly, we gave this facility a C for its short-term care score, which is not too bad of a score. Short-term care grades are based on the facility's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This includes a broad scope of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Unfortunately, this place was below average in terms of its number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its patients based on the measures we assessed. The final datapoint we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that just 5.4 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is actually below average.

Nurse Quality

Grade: F

In addition, we gave this facility an F in the area of nursing care. Our nursing score assesses the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. We weigh both the levels of training of those nurses and the amount of time spent with residents. This place provided a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This figure is quite a bit below average. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in calculating our nursing ratings. This place fared well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: F

The last category we assessed was long-term care, in which this facility received an abysmal grade in this category also. Unfortunately, we gave it a lowly F in this area, which is obviously a major disappointment. When facilities receive this type of grade in long-term care it is typically a bad sign for resident care and it may indicate that the facility is not as well-staffed with nurses and aids. On top of assessing the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Candidly, we were a bit worried that this nursing home vaccinated only 78.49462 percent of its residents. To our surprise, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than many nursing homes. This is its best feature in this category.
