Adding to its strong resume, this facility also received an excellent nursing score, with a grade of A-. Nursing grades are primarily tied to a facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides an incredible 4.2 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. Out of that total, many of those hours were provided by registered nurses, which is one of the most highly highly trained levels of nurses. On top of offering high levels of care, this place also performed well in several of the quality-based metrics we looked at. In terms of the number of its residents suffering falls leading to major injury, this facility performed as well as any facility the nation.
Short-term Care Quality
Building on its fine profile, this nursing home also was given an excellent short-term care grade, with a grade of A-. Our short-term care grade is commonly used to score a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation In order to provide highly rated rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally must have higher levels of skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other highly trained professionals. One of this nursing home's strengths is registered nurse hours. We found that it offers more care from registered nurses to its residents than most facilities. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents that ultimately returned home from this facility. We found that it fared better than most facilities in the country in this area with 53.4 percent of its residents returning home.
Long-term Care Quality
In the last category we assessed, this facility was awarded a very favorable grade of A- in our long-term care category. With this grade, the nursing home finished off a straight A report card. For patients looking for a permanent place to live rather than rehabilitation, long-term care is a very important category. This facility's vaccination statistics were not as strong as its nursing hours data. This facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to just 34.437088 percent of its patients. We'd like to see some improvement herein this statistic next year. The last statistic we looked at was the facility's hospitalization rate. We found that this facility had 1.73 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is middle of the road in this area.
