Facility Inspections
To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. These inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality
Among its many impressive grades, this facility received an excellent nursing grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A in that category. The nursing rating analyzes quite a few subcategories, but the primary consideration is the quantity of nurse hours per patient per week. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality-based metrics and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the nation in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be prevented by offering better nursing care, such as by having a system of turning a resident more frequently.
Short-term Care Quality
The final category we looked at is short-term care. We awarded this nursing home one of our better scores in this category, with a B. Although this wasn't as high as several of this facility's other grades, it is nevertheless a positive score. Short-term care ratings are based in part on a facility's quantity of highly-skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a vast scope of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 4.5 percent of this facility's patients returned home.
