Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. These inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these items by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Although this place had a few deficiencies on its government inspection report, none of them were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for its nursing grade. Nursing grades are primarily based on a facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

Turning our third category, this top-shelf facility also excelled in the area of long-term care. In this category, it received a A+. Very few facilities performed better in this category. Facilities that receive this kind of grade in this category typically provide consistent 24/7 care to ensure residents are kept in good health. Once we looked at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination records. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its residents for pneumonia. Vaccines are critical to keeping residents healthy. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In our last area, we awarded this facility an A+ for our short-term care score. This finished off a first-rate profile. In our short-term care category, we attempt to create a sound gauge for rehabilitation services. In this process, we look at a nursing home's levels of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last metric we looked at in this category is the number of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We found that 5.5 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
