Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

In addition to a phenomenal overall grade, this facility also received A+ nursing grade. Nursing ratings are based largely on quality and quantity of nursing care. This facility provided 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this nursing home received an elite score of A in our short-term care category. Short-term care grades are important for prospective residents needing rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually utilizes more skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes a broad range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.4 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Tallying another strong category grade, this nursing home also excelled in inspections, where it received a score of A. Our inspection grades weigh several factors included in a facility's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we weigh heavily is the number and severity of deficiencies.
