Facility Inspections
On top of being a strong nursing home overall, this place also excelled in our inspections category, where it earned an A+. Few nursing homes fared better in this area. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing our inspection scores. One critical factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some end up being relatively minor. Although this place had a few deficiencies on its report, none of them were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Short-term Care Quality
In addition, this nursing home also was awarded favorable short-term care grades in our assessment. Indeed, we awarded them one of our better grades in that category, with a score of B+. In determining our short-term care ratings, we analyze a nursing home's levels of skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists speech therapists and other licensed professionals. This category is more often than not a fair assessment of the nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. However, according to the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last metric we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. We found that 5.9 percent of this facility's residents returned home.

Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home received a favorable long-term care grade as well. We gave it one of our better scores in that area with a grade of B. For long-term care residents, the facility's primary objective is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate patients. After considering the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we next considered the nursing home's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 87.07865 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is a bit less than we were hoping for but still a decent figure. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
Nurse Quality
The final area we rated is nursing, which ended up being this nursing home's least impressive category. Sadly, it received a lowly F for this area, which is obviously somewhat concerning. There are a number of factors within this category. Many of these criteria are tied to staffing levels. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Unfortunately, this facility also did not fare as well as we had hoped in some of the quality measures we looked at in this category.
