Facility Inspections

Grade: B-minus

Although we did not have many positive things to say about this nursing home's overall score, it did receive a respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent score in this area with a B-. Our inspection ratings weigh several factors found on a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we rely on is the number and severity of deficiencies. Although this facility had a few deficiencies on its inspection report, none of them were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. Lastly, this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

We awarded this facility a respectable grade in the area of nursing as well, with a grade of B-. Our nursing rating is primarily based on a facility's level of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This is a relatively low total compared to most facilities. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility actually excelled in some of the quality-based metrics we assessed. It scored well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. Many consider these areas to be reliable measures of the quality of nursing care. In many cases, the quality of nursing care is just as important as the quantity of hours of care offered.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

This facilities next best area was short-term care. We gave it a B- in this area. This is essentially a slightly below average score in this category. In the category of short-term care, we endeavor to evaluate indicators of a facility's rehabilitation. We analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. Unfortunately, we found that this place provided fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other nursing homes. The more important thing is determining what effect this had on the quality of care. The last item we considered in this category is the number of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We discovered that just 5.1 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is below average.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: C

Our last category is long-term care, in which we gave this facility a grade of C in this category. In the area of long-term care, we weigh the quantity of services provided by a nursing home, rather than more healthcare-oriented services. After assessing the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination records. We were concerned by the fact that this facility vaccinated a relatively low 86.206894 percent of its residents for pneumonia. On a more positive note, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
