This nursing home received a nursing rating which is stronger than its overall grade. We awarded this facility an above average score of B in this category. In determining our nursing grades, we weigh both staffing levels and the levels of licensure of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. This facility's next best area was short-term care. In that area, we awarded this nursing home a B-. Short-term care scores are based in part on a facility's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a wide scope of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, in addition to other variations of therapy. Unfortunately, this nursing home was below average in terms of its quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its residents based on the measures we assessed. The last item we looked at in this category is the number of residents that eventually returned home from the nursing home. We found that just 4.2 percent of this facility's residents returned home.

The last area we looked at is long-term care. We gave this facility a C in that area. Our long-term care grade focuses on a nursing home's personal care rather than the highly skilled nursing and medical services that are critical to a skilled nursing facility. In addition to considering the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Thankfully, this facility gave the vaccine to 100 percent of its residents, which is an above average percentage. Finally, this nursing home was also able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
