Registered Staff Hours
Long-term Care Quality
Although we graded this nursing home incredibly poorly overall, it earned a more respectable long-term care score this year. We gave it a grade of B- in that category. Long-term care grades focus on a facility's personal care rather than the highly skilled nursing and healthcare services that are critical to a rehabilitation facility. One of the factors we considered in addition to nurse's aid hours is vaccinations. We were a bit bothered by the fact that this facility administered the pneumonia vaccination to just 29.951689 percent of its patients. On a more positive note, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
Facility Inspections
This nursing home performed well in inspections also. In fact, we gave it a grade of B- for that category, which is a solid score. We would argue that one of the most critical factors in evaluating an inspection report is deficiencies. We especially look at the severity of those deficiencies. This place was assessed 6 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe deficiencies. This indicates that CMS didn't deem any of these deficiencies to be an imminent risk to patient safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.

Short-term Care Quality
We awarded this nursing home a grade of just D for our short-term care rating. This is well below average in this category. In calculating these short-term care ratings, we analyze the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our objective is to create a tool for comparing the rehabilitation services of nursing homes. Given its score in this area, we were not stunned to discover that this nursing home was well below average in terms of the quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its residents based on the data we looked at. Honestly, this was about what we expected to find. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients that returned home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
Nurse Quality
Moving on to the last category, this nursing home really did not perform well in this area either. Due to an abysmal grade of F in nursing, this is really as as uninspiring as it gets. When calculating our nursing ratings, we factor in both nursing hours and the skill levels of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. To pair with its low totals in the area of nursing hours per resident, this place also did not fare as well in the quality-based measures we looked at in computing our nursing ratings. We looked at the percent of residents sustaining pressure ulcers and major falls. This facility had more falls and pressure ulcers than the average nursing home.
