Long-term Care Quality
Neither this facility's overall grade nor its category grades gave us much to write home about. Its best category was long-term care, but even there we gave it a grade of just D. For prospective residents seeking a permanent residence as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care grades are a key measure. One of the datapoints we considered on top of nursing hours was vaccines. Fortunately, this nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccination to 98.86685 percent of its patients. Surprisingly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility had less hospitalizations than many nursing homes. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
Nurse Quality
We also wanted to draw your attention to this facility's poor nursing grade where it received an F. Our nursing score is based on several components, but the paramount consideration is the quantity of nurse hours spent with patients. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing ratings. This place performed well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. Many consider these statistics to be measures of the quality of nursing care.

Facility Inspections
Unfortunately, this nursing home received a lowly F for its inspection grade. For places with bad inspection grades, you should really focus on any severe deficiencies found on their recent inspection reports. This particular nursing home had 2 deficiencies by CMS. The only favorable thing we found is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that suggest that they created a threat to resident safety or health. Lastly, this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.
Short-term Care Quality
The last area we analyzed is short-term care. This facility was given a very poor grade of F in this area. In calculating these short-term care grades, we assess the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. The purpose is to devise a tool for comparing the rehabilitation services of different facilities. Based on its score in this category, we were not stunned to learn that this nursing home is well below average in terms of the number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its patients based on the figures we looked at. Finally, we assessed the number of patients that eventually returned home from this facility. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was well off the national average.
