Short-term Care Quality
In addition to receiving a strong overall grade, this facility performed well in our short-term care category. We awarded it a grade of A for that category. In the area of short-term care, we attempt to assess measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. We assess a facility's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 4.8 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
Nurse Quality
Among this facility's other strengths is its elite nursing grade. We awarded them one of our better scores in that area, with a grade of A-. Our nursing grade is primarily associated with a facility's level of nurse staffing. This facility provided 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Facility Inspections
Moving on to another of this nursing home's strengths, it also earned a very impressive inspection rating. Inspections proved to be one of its best grades. In that area, we gave this facility a grade of B+. Arguably the most significant factor we consider in determining our inspection grades is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Places with higher grades in this area typically dodged the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. While this place had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G through L. This tells you the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A few relatively minor deficiencies are not the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
The final area we looked at was long-term care. In this category, we awarded this facility a decent grade of B-. This actually ended up being this nursing home's weakest area. For patients seeking a permanent residence rather than rehabilitation, long-term care grades are a key measure. One of the statistics we considered in addition to nurse's aid hours is vaccinations. Thankfully, this facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to 95.97523 percent of its patients. Lastly, this nursing home was also able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.03 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
