Nurse Quality
In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this nursing home received an A+ for nursing. Our nursing rating analyzes the nursing home's nurse staffing levels. We weigh both the levels of training of the nurses as well as the quantity of hours spent with residents. This place boasts a really impressive 4.7 hours of nursing care per patient each day, of which a significant portion was provided by registered nurses. This is one of the most highly trained levels of nurses. This is among the better totals of nursing hours we found. On top of offering high levels of care, this nursing home also excelled in the quality-based metrics we looked at. It performed as well as any facility in the nation in the area of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
Facility Inspections
Adding to its impressive category scores, this facility also excelled in the category of inspections, where it earned a grade of A. Few nursing homes performed as well in this area. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating these inspection grades. One of those factors is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these can be quite insignificant. Fortunately, although this facility had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G through L. This means the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in the industry.
Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home also received a very impressive short-term care score. In fact, this is this nursing home's third most impressive category grade. In that category, we gave this facility a grade of A-. In our short-term care assessment, we endeavor to craft a valuable gauge for rehabilitation. In doing so, we analyze a facility's levels of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. When we assessed this facility's nursing hours, we found it offered more care from registered nurses than most nursing homes. The last item we looked at in this area is the number of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We found that it was respectable in this area with 47.8 percent of its patients returning home.
Long-term Care Quality
In the final category we analyzed, this nursing home received a very strong grade of B+ in our long-term care category. With this grade, the nursing home finished off a very favorable report card. In a long-term care environment, the facility's primary objective is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. This facility's vaccination data weren't as favorable a few of its other statistics in this category, such as its nursing hours data. This facility gave the pneumonia vaccine to just 83.13253 percent of its residents. We would like to see some improvement herein this statistic in the future. This place was also able to keep its residents out of the hospital. It had only 1.55 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days.
