Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a grade of B+ for our long-term care rating. Facilities that receive this kind of grade in long-term care typically provide consistent around the clock care to make sure patients are kept in good health. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination records. This nursing home vaccinated 97.72727 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is what we like to see. Pneumonia sadly can be a deadly condition for nursing home patients so we strongly prefer when a nursing home does not take any chances. Finally, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: D

We gave this facility just a D for our short-term care score and that actually ended up being its next most favorable category. In the category of short-term care, we strive to evaluate indicators of a facility's rehabilitation services. We analyze a nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. With its grade in this area, we were not stunned to find that this facility was well below average in terms of the number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its patients based on the measures we assessed. Frankly, this was about what we expected here. Finally, we assessed the percentage of residents that eventually returned home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.

Facility Inspections

Grade: F

Among this facility's alarming category grades was an F for its inspection grade. More often than not, this means we found some red flags on the facility's inspection reports. For nursing homes with poor inspection ratings, you should really focus on any severe deficiencies found on their recent inspection reports. This nursing home was hit with 2 deficiencies on its inspection report. The only favorable thing we can say is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that suggest that they posed a risk to patient health or safety. Lastly, we need to point out that this place received large government fines recently amounting to over $100,000. This generally means that a nursing home's bad performance has been an issue for several years.

Nurse Quality

Grade: F

The last category we analyzed was nursing. We gave it a lowly F in this area, which is a very poor grade. In calculating our nursing grades, we assess both staffing levels and the skill levels of those nurses. This place provided only 0.2 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This is not a very impressive figure. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
