Facility Inspections
In addition to receiving an elite overall grade, this nursing home also earned an A+ inspection score. This score is based on the facility's recent government inspections. An A+ in this area is one of the highest complements we can pay to a facility. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating our inspection ratings. One key factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these are quite minor. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Even some of the best nursing homes receive an occasional ding on their inspection report.
Short-term Care Quality
Among the reasons we graded this facility so highly is that it was awarded a strong short-term care score. Indeed, short-term care ended up being its second most impressive category score. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. In determining our short-term care grades, we analyze the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. The objective is to devise a scale for comparing the rehabilitation services of different facilities. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. However, based on the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final item we looked at in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We found that 5.8 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Long-term Care Quality
This facility is also strong in the category of long-term care, where it was given a grade of B. It performed better than most nursing homes in this area. For long-term care residents, the facility's primary objective is to keep patients as healthy and safe as possible. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate patients. One of the datapoints we considered on top of nursing hours is vaccinations. This nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccine to 93.085106 percent of its patients. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
Nurse Quality
Moving on to our last category, this facility received an acceptable nursing rating. Although this was not as elite as several of its other scores, this is really a middle of the pack score. There are a variety of subcategories included in this category. Many of these factors relate to staffing levels. This nursing home averages just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Finally, while this nursing home got dinged a bit for nursing hours per resident, it excelled in a few of our quality-based metrics. With fewer than five percent of its patients suffering from pressure ulcers, it performed very well in this subcategory.
