Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

On top of receiving a great overall rating, this nursing home also received an A+ inspection grade. This is based on its recent inspection reports. An A+ in this category is one of the best complements we can offer a nursing home. Perhaps the most significant factor we consider in calculating our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Places with higher grades in this category typically dodged the most severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. This nursing home was hit with 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This tells you that CMS did not consider any of these deficiencies to cause an immediate risk to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

Among its many impressive grades, this facility received an excellent nursing grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A in that category. Our nursing grade is primarily based on the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality measures and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility the state in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can frequently be prevented by offering better nursing care, such as having a protocol of turning patients at least once a day.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

Moving on our next area, this nursing home was awarded a top-shelf long-term care score. In fact, it received a score of A in this category. Facilities that excel in long-term care typically are well-staffed and provide extensive hands on care to patients. After considering the volume of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 98.657715 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia sadly can be a deadly ailment for nursing home residents so we strongly prefer when a facility does not take any chances. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

In the final category, we gave this facility an A+ for our short-term care grade. This completed a very impressive profile. Our short-term care ratings are based in part on the facility's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a vast scope of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, not to mention other types of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
