Inspection scores are based on items located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that excel in this category have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

We also would like to emphasize the fact that this nursing home was given a high-end score of A in our short-term care category. With our short-term care assessment, we attempt to craft a fair barometer for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we analyze a nursing home's offerings of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last measure we assessed in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that 6 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility received an impressive grade of A in our nursing category. There are several factors within this area. Most of the factors are tied to the quantity and quality of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can generally be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

In the final category, we gave this nursing home an A+ for its long-term care grade. This rounded out a first-rate report card. Facilities that receive this kind of grade in long-term care tend to provide consistent 24/7 care to make sure residents are kept in good health. After we finished looking at the quantity of nursing care, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination statistics. This nursing home vaccinated 99.01961 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is what we like to see. Pneumonia can be a deadly ailment for nursing home residents so we strongly prefer when a facility doesn't leave this to chance. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
