Facility Inspections
In addition to being a strong nursing home overall, it also received A+ government inspections in recent years. Its inspections are virtually flawless. Our inspection grades are based on many datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that receive favorable grades in this area have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. While this nursing home had some deficiencies on its report, none were severe based on CMS' scale. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in the industry.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this facility so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing rating. This proved to be its second best category grade. In that area, we gave this facility a grade of A-. In calculating our nursing ratings, we factor in both nursing hours and the skill levels of the nurses. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality
In addition, this facility also received favorable short-term care scores in our assessment. In fact, we awarded it one of our stronger grades in that area, with a grade of B+. With our short-term care category, we seek to create a valuable measure for rehabilitation. In this process, we analyze a nursing home's levels of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last metric we assessed in this area is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We found that 5.1 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
Long-term Care Quality
In the last category we rated, this nursing home was awarded a very strong grade of B+ in our long-term care category. With this grade, the nursing home wrapped up a very impressive report card. When nursing homes receive a score in this range in this category it typically means it's well-staffed and is a quality place to live on a permanent basis. On top of considering the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its patients, which is what we like to see. Pneumonia can be a life or death illness for nursing home residents so we like it when a facility doesn't take any chances. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
