Facility Inspections
This facility received a solid overall grade as described above, but we really wanted to point out its excellent health inspection reports in recent years. We gave them an impressive grade of A in this category. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing our inspection grades. One critical factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is usually more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these end up being relatively insignificant. While this facility had a few minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those labeled as categories G through L. This tells you that the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. The fact that none of the deficiencies were severe leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.
Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home also received an impressive grade in our short-term care category. We gave this nursing home a better than average grade of B in this category. In calculating our short-term care grades, we size up the nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other types of therapists. This grade is typically a useful measure of a nursing home's rehabilitation. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the number of patients who eventually returned home from this facility. We found that 5.6 percent of this facility's residents returned home.

Nurse Quality
The next highest grade we gave this nursing home in any area came in the category of nursing, where we gave it a grade of C. Our nursing grade is mostly tied to a facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient each day. This figure is far below average. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this nursing home surprisingly excelled in some of the quality measures we looked at. It scored well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.
Long-term Care Quality
The final category we looked at was long-term care. We gave it an F in this category, which is an abysmal score. This is obviously a significant concern. If you are seeking anything other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at long-term care ratings. One of the data points we considered in addition to nursing hours is vaccinations. Fortunately, this facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to 96.503494 percent of its residents. To our surprise, this nursing home was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. Sadly, a few of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
