Long-term Care Quality
In addition to its strong overall grade, we awarded this facility a grade of A for our long-term care grade. Nursing homes that do well in long-term care tend to provide residents with more supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. One of the criteria we considered in addition to nursing hours was vaccines. This nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccine to 99.5086 percent of its patients. Vaccination is a reliable method to avoid unnecessary deaths for the senior population. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
Facility Inspections
Turning to another one of this place's strengths, it also earned a very impressive inspection rating. Inspections proved to be one of its best category grades. We awarded this nursing home a grade of A-. These inspection scores weigh several factors, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these items by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Although this place had a few deficiencies on its report, none of them were serious based on CMS' scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality
The next area we looked at is short-term care. This facility received an above average short-term care score, with a grade of B in this category. Our short-term care grades are meaningful for patients seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally requires additional skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes a vast range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last measure we assessed in this area is the percentage of patients who were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that 5.5 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.
Nurse Quality
Moving on to our final category, this nursing home was given a respectable nursing score. While this wasn't quite as dominant as some of its other category grades, this is still not a terrible score. In computing our nursing ratings, we analyze both the number of hours nurses spend with residents and the skill levels of those nurses. This nursing home averages just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility actually fared better in some of the quality-based metrics we assessed. In fact, it scored well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.
