Nurse Quality

Grade: A

This facility also excelled in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of A. Few nursing homes performed better in this area. The nursing category weighs a handful of factors, most of which are based on nursing hours. This nursing home averages 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

Turning to the last category, this facility also performed well in our short-term care category. We awarded it a grade of A for that area. This finalized truly elite profile. Short-term care grades are typically employed to score a nursing home's rehabilitation services. In order to offer highly scored rehabilitation services, facilities generally need to offer higher levels of skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and other highly skilled individuals. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we considered the percentage of patients who ultimately returned home from this facility. We found that 5.5 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
