Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

The main reason this nursing home received a decent overall grade is its excellent government inspections in recent years. We gave it one of our better grades in that category, with an A+. This is a notably better grade than the facility's overall grade, which was decent but certainly not elite. Our inspection grades weigh a host of factors found on a nursing home's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we consider is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with better grades in this category usually have very few of these severe deficiencies. We weren't able to track down information about this nursing home's deficiencies. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is always a good sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

Additionally, we awarded this nursing home a grade of B+ in our long-term care category. This is one of our better grades. Facilities that excel in this category typically provide residents with closer supervision and stay on top of routine medical care. After considering the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 99.42857 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Vaccines are vital to keeping residents healthy. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: F

This facility also received a strong nursing score. We gave it a grade of F in this area. In determining our nursing ratings, we look at both nursing hours and the levels of licensure of the nurses. This nursing home provided a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place fared well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these metrics to be indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: F

This facility's weakest area is short-term care, which is the final category we scored. We gave it an abysmal F for this category. Even with some solid grades in other areas, this score is nevertheless concerning so we wanted to make sure you are aware. Short-term care grades are based on the facility's quantity of highly-skilled nursing services. This means a broad range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. As you might expect, we learned that this nursing home provides substantially less registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than a typical nursing home. Finally, we considered the percentage of patients that ultimately returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 3.9 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
