Although we did not rate this facility well overall, we want to point out its decent grade of B- in the category of nursing. In calculating our nursing scores, we factor in both staffing levels and the training levels of those nurses. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place excelled in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at. It scored well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be measures of the quality of nursing care. In many cases, the quality of nursing care is as important as the number of hours of care offered.

This nursing home's next highest area ended up being its short-term care grade, where it received a B-. Our short-term care grades are based on the facility's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a broad spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other variations of therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this nursing home provided fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other nursing homes. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most facilities, closer to half of their patients are able to return home so this figure is below average.

This nursing home received mediocre inspections in recent years. We awarded them a C in this category. We would argue that one of the most critical factors in assessing an inspection report is deficiencies. We especially look at the severity of the deficiencies. This place was assessed 3 deficiencies on its government inspection report, but none were category G through L deficiencies. This means that it dodged the more serious categories of deficiencies. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.

Moving on to the next category, this nursing home really didn't fare well in this area either. Due to an abysmal grade of F in long-term care, this is really as bad as it gets. Nursing homes that receive this kind of score in long-term care may not provide the type of consistent around the clock care that some other facilities offer. This facility gave the vaccine to 65.66265 percent of its residents. This is multiple points below what we expected. Surprisingly, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility had fewer hospitalizations than the average nursing home. This is its best feature in this category.
