Facility Inspections
While we were fairly low on this facility overall, we awarded it an A for our inspections rating. This score is far more impressive than the nursing home's overall grade. Inspection scores are based on several pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are a key item to look for on these inspections. You should especially avoid facilities that have severe deficiencies linked to endangerment of patients. This particular nursing home received 7 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.
Long-term Care Quality
We gave this nursing home just a D for our long-term care grade and that actually ended up being its second most favorable score. When facilities receive this type of grade in long-term care it is typically a bad sign for resident care and it may mean that the nursing home is not as well-staffed with nurses and aids. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination record. We were a bit alarmed this facility vaccinated 84.888885 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which happens to be significantly less than what we were hoping for. To our surprise, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has fewer hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This is its best feature in this category.

Short-term Care Quality
Unfortunately, we gave this facility an F for its short-term care grade. Our short-term care ratings are arguably most important for individuals in need of a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally mandates higher levels of skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing means not just nursing, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. The final measure we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We discovered that just 3.9 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is well below average. The combination of these subpar metrics was damning for this nursing home's short-term care grade.
Nurse Quality
The next category we assessed is nursing, where this facility received a very poor score in this category as well. Unfortunately, we gave it a lowly F in this area, which is obviously somewhat alarming. We weighed the skill-level of nurses at the facility, as well as the number of hours the nurses were with residents, in determining our score in this category. This place provided only 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. On top of rating below average in nursing hours per resident, this nursing home also had poor scores in the quality-based metrics we looked at in calculating our nursing ratings. We looked at the percentage of residents sustaining major falls and pressure ulcers. This facility was at roughly 1.5 times the national average in both of these metrics. This is a bad sign when you consider that many bed sores and falls are preventable with better nursing care. These statistics pulled down this nursing home's nursing rating significantly.
