Facility Inspections
While we gave this nursing home a terrible overall score, we awarded it a B+ for our inspections rating. This was the result of the nursing home receiving a quality government inspection report this year. Inspection scores weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. The lack of deficiencies is this facility's greatest accomplishment.
Long-term Care Quality
Tragically, we gave this facility an F for its long-term care grade. Facilities that receive this type of grade in this category may not provide the type of consistent 24/7 care that some other facilities provide. After considering the amount of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination records. We were a bit alarmed this nursing home vaccinated a relatively low 64.70588 percent of its residents for pneumonia. To our surprise, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than many nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.

Nurse Quality
Unfortunately, we gave this facility an F for its nursing grade. In determining our nursing scores, we analyze both nursing hours and the levels of licensure of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing scores. This place fared well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.
Short-term Care Quality
The next category we looked at is short-term care, where this facility was given a bottom of the barrel grade here also. Unfortunately, we gave it an F in this category, which is obviously a major concern. In the area of short-term care, we endeavor to qualify measures of a facility's rehabilitation services. We analyze a facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and physical and occupational therapists. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. This wasn't a strength for this nursing home. We found that just 3.6 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most facilities, around half of their patients are able to return home so this is well below average.
