Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

The primary reason this facility received a decent overall score is its excellent government inspections in recent years. We awarded them one of our higher grades in that area, with a grade of A+. This is a notably better grade than the facility's overall grade, which was decent but certainly not elite. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating our inspection grades. One critical factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is usually more important than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies are relatively insignificant. This place was hit with 5 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe deficiencies. This tells you that the inspectors didn't consider any of these deficiencies to create an imminent risk to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

Additionally, we also wanted to point out that this facility was given strong long-term care marks in this assessment. We gave them one of our better scores in that area, with a B+. This turned out to be the nursing home's second best score. Nursing homes that receive this kind of score in this category typically provide consistent around the clock care to make sure residents are well cared for. On top of looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 94.1704 percent of its residents. Vaccines are vital to keeping patients healthy. Finally, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: C

This nursing home's third most favorable category turned out to be short-term care. In that area, we gave this facility a C. In the area of short-term care, we try to evaluate measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We analyze a nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and various therapists. It does not appear that this facility provided information about its staffing of registered nurses or physical therapists. The final item we assessed in this category is the number of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We discovered that just 0 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is actually below average.

Nurse Quality

Grade: D

This nursing home's least impressive area is nursing, which is the last category we looked at. In this area, we awarded this nursing home a grade of D. Nursing ratings are based in large part on quality and quantity of nursing care. This facility averaged just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in calculating our nursing grades. This facility performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.
