Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

Although we were not high on this facility overall, we awarded it a grade of B- in nursing. This score is better than its overall grade. We weighed the qualifications of nurses at the nursing home, as well as the number of hours those nurses were with patients, in computing our grade in this category. This facility provided just 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility surprisingly excelled in some of the quality measures we assessed. In fact, it performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

This nursing home was awarded its next highest category score in the category of short-term care. We gave this facility a grade of B- in this category, which is an acceptable score. With our short-term care rating, we endeavor to craft a sound barometer for rehabilitation. In this process, we analyze the nursing home's levels of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. We were surprised to find that this facility was below average in the two key staffing areas we assessed. The facility supplied fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other facilities. It is still important to determine whether this is adversely impacting the quality of care. The last statistic we assessed in this category is the percentage of patients that ultimately returned home from the facility. We found that just 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home. This figure was below average.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

This facility's next highest area ended up being long-term care. In that category, we awarded this facility a B-. Long-term care scores are vital for prospective residents seeking non-healthcare services such as personal care. After considering the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination statistics. This nursing home vaccinated 97.402596 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. This nursing home was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Facility Inspections

Grade: F

Turning to our final category of inspections, this facility received a grade that's as bad as it gets. We weight this category more heavily than our other categories. For facilities that received this poor of an inspection rating, we recommend scrutinizing the severe deficiencies on its inspection report. This nursing home was assessed 4 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only favorable thing we can say is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that indicate they posed a threat to resident safety or health. Finally, CMS flagged this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. This is not what you want to see. We advise you to direct your search elsewhere.
