Nurse Quality

Grade: A

In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this nursing home also received an elite nursing score. We gave them one of our better scores in that area, with an A. Our nursing grade is based on several datapoints, most of which are associated with nursing hours. This particular nursing home provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

Additionally, this facility also was awarded favorable long-term care grades this year. In fact, we gave it one of our stronger grades in that category, with a score of B+. For long-term care residents, the nursing home's primary goal is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. After we finished looking at the amount of care provided by nurses, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination records. This nursing home vaccinated 83.95639 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we like to see, we were pleased to find facility was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Facility Inspections

Grade: B

Another area of strength for this nursing home is in the area of inspections. In fact, inspections turned out to be one of its best categories. In that area, we awarded this nursing home a grade of B. Arguably the most critical factor we look at in calculating our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Facilities with higher grades in this area most likely avoided the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. This particular nursing home received 6 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a good inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: C

Turning to our last area, this facility was awarded a decent short-term care score of C. In our short-term care grade, we seek to forge a meaningful measure for rehabilitation services. In this process, we analyze the nursing home's scope of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final statistic we considered in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We discovered that just 3 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is actually below average.
