Registered Staff Hours
Short-term Care Quality
While we did not rate this nursing home favorably overall, we want to point out its relatively favorable short-term care score. We awarded it a B in this category, which was much better than its overall grade. In our short-term care rating, we attempt to create a sound gauge for rehabilitation. In this process, we look at the facility's levels of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last datapoint we assessed in this category is the percentage of patients that were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that 5.2 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
Nurse Quality
We awarded this facility a respectable grade in the area of nursing as well, with a grade of B-. Our nursing grade is largely tied to a facility's nurse staffing. This particular facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This figure is far below average. Finally, despite not having the highest total nursing hours, this place actually performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is typically an indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place.

Facility Inspections
This nursing home earned slightly below average inspections in recent years. We gave them a grade of C in this category. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining these inspection grades. One of those factors is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is usually more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these can be quite minor. This nursing home had 5 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to find that none were in any of the categories labeled G through L. This indicates that the government inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies to present an imminent threat to resident safety or health. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.
Long-term Care Quality
The last category we analyzed is long-term care, turned out to be this facility's least impressive area. We awarded this facility a grade of D in this area. Nursing homes that do not fare well in long-term care typically aren't as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine healthcare services we looked at. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Candidly, we were a bit alarmed this facility administered the vaccine to just 88.61789 percent of its patients. To our surprise, this facility was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.05 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.
