Our inspection ratings are tied to many pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that excel in this area have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Unfortunately, we weren't able to find deficiency counts for this nursing home. We would like to have more information about this nursing home. Without having access to all of the information regarding deficiencies, it ended up being a challenge to evaluate it in terms of this category.

Among its many impressive scores, this nursing home earned an excellent nursing grade. We gave it a grade of B in that area. Pressure ulcers can typically be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as employing a protocol of turning a resident at least once a day.

Additionally, this nursing home also received favorable long-term care scores this year. In fact, we gave it one of our better grades in that area, with a grade of B. If you are looking for services other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care ratings. In addition to looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 85.33772 percent of its patients. This is somewhat less than we were hoping for. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

The last area we graded was short-term care, where this nursing home was awarded a B. This facility proved to be very solid across the board. In calculating our short-term care ratings, we quantify the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. The goal is to devise a tool for comparing the rehabilitation services of different nursing homes. We were not able to locate information on registered nurse or physical therapy staffing for this nursing home. The last item we assessed in this category is the number of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We found that 5.5 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.
