On top of faring well in its overall grade, this facility earned an excellent short-term care grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A in that area. In calculating our short-term care grades, we scrutinize the nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other highly trained professionals. This grade is generally a useful measure of the nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. This nursing home provided more physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most facilities. This is what we like to find when assessing a nursing home in this category. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that it outperformed the majority of nursing homes in this area with 55.7 percent of its patients able to return home. This is a higher rate than most facilities.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this nursing home so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing rating. In that category, we awarded this nursing home an A-. Nursing scores are mostly tied to a facility's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home offers extremely high levels of nursing care, averaging 4.3 hours per resident each day. This is more nursing care than nearly any other nursing home offers. Finally, this facility also performed well in several of the quality-based metrics we assessed. In terms of the number of its patients sustaining falls leading to major injury, this nursing home performed as well as any nursing home in the nation.
Long-term Care Quality
We also would like to point out the fact that this facility was awarded a superb score of A- in our long-term care area. Facilities that excel in long-term care tend to provide residents with more supervision and stay on top of routine medical care. After looking at the significant amount of nursing hours and other staffing provided by this facility, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is much higher than most nursing homes. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 1.31 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than most nursing homes.

Finishing off its impressive profile, this nursing home also performed a high level in the area of inspections. It earned a nearly flawless government inspection report this year. As a result, it earned one of our best scores in that category with a B+. Inspection grades are based on pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports.
