One of the reasons this place turned out to be a quality nursing home is that it earned an A+ inspection grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this very important category. Inspection grades weigh several factors included in a facility's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we weigh heavily is the number and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with better scores in this area typically have few severe deficiencies. This nursing home was hit with 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe deficiencies. This tells you that the inspectors did not deem any of these deficiencies to cause an immediate risk to resident safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last statistic we looked at in this category is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. We discovered that 5.7 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.

Turning to the next area, this nursing home also performed admirably in the nursing category. In fact, we gave it an A for that area. This completed truly elite report card. Pressure ulcers can frequently be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as by having a system of turning residents at least once a day.
